PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Construction Worker in Critical Condition after Riverside County Hit-and-Run Accident

Riverside County- An elderly Beaumont construction worker is in a critical condition following a hit-and-run accident involving a suspected drunken driver, said police.
Reports said 52-year-old Barry Steele, who is employed at Skanska Construction, was working on a closed 91 Freeway on-ramp along the Van Buren Boulevard when the accident happened.
A Caterpillar load was reportedly hit by a 1998 Mazda. A concrete k-rail then hit him, said reports.
The driver identified as 21-yer-old Brandi Holmes, from Riverside, tried to flee but was captured by other construction workers. He is now facing charges for hit-and-run and drunk driving.
A 19-year-old car passenger sustained moderate injuries in the incident.
