Chain Collision Injures 6 People
September 2, 2009
Los Angeles – According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, six people were injured after a 40-year old man suffered a medical condition while driving his vehicle at 7:09 a.m. at Jefferson Boulevard and Grand Avenue.
Devin Gales of the Fire Department said that initial reports indicate that the driver suffered a seizure while behind the wheel causing him to drive onto a sidewalk.
He struck two pedestrians, a 40-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, who were listed in serious condition at a local hospital.
The vehicle then swerved down the street and crashed into a car carrying a 6-year old girl with her parents. The child was reported to be in a critical condition while parents are getting treated in the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver, who was also taken to the hospital, is currently in a critical condition.
