Big-Rig Accident Injures One, Closed 5 Lanes in Interstate 5

Burbank – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a truck accident that injured one person and closed five traffic lanes of Interstate 5 for several hours.
According to CHP reports, a big-rig truck collided with the center barrier and caught fire shortly before 6:00 am in the (5) freeway in Burbank.
The crash started a chain reaction that involved 5 more cars, with some being smashed under the rig.
One person sustained minor to moderate injuries while another was briefly trapped in the wreckage.
The accident caused 5 lanes to be closed as fire crews put out the flame.
The entire freeway was cleared and opened to traffic shortly before 11:15 a.m.
