Authorities Identify Toddler Who Drowned in Pool
June 29, 2009
San Jose, California - Authorities have identified the 17-month-old boy who accidentally fell and drowned in a pool on Thursday.
According to Santa Clara County medical examiner, Derek Ayala was found floating in a pool in Oxford Place late evening. Reports said he is the third child to drown in the Bay Area this month.
Few weeks ago, 2-year-old Drew Michael accidentally fell into a hot tub and died inside a condominium in Union City while Hannah Spencer, also 2 years old, drowned in her family’s pool. Meanwhile, authorities believe the two cases were an accident and no foul play happened.
