Animal Attack: Aggressive dogs caused chaos in Hyde Park
Los Angeles – Three dogs reportedly attacked two people and caused disorder around the Hyde Park area early Friday. The dogs were running around Slauson Avenue and chasing people when the police reached the scene.
Two victims, a man and a woman, were both taken to the hospital. The woman suffered bite injuries while the man was hurt after he tried helping the woman.
According to LAPD Sgt. Raymond Madrid, the dogs, each one weighing over a hundred pounds, were "extremely aggressive,” but the police were eventually able to control them. A police officer was even forced to shoot one of the dogs after it went after him.
Authorities are still investigating why they were on the loose. The owner of the dogs is also being questioned.
According to an animal control official, the dogs were two males and a female of the Neapolitan mastiff breed.
