CAR ACCIDENT: 73-year-old Fremont man, hit by car
Fremont – A 73-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street Thursday evening.
According to the police, the victim was crossing Civic Center Drive near Mowry Avenue when a 1987 Toyota Camry struck him at about 6:30 in the evening.
The car’s driver, 57-year-old, also from Fremont, immediately stopped at the scene and is now cooperating with investigators, police says.
Meanwhile, the victim, who was seriously injured, was taken to a trauma center where he is in critical condition. The driver was not under alcohol or drug influence when the accident happened, according to officers, and no violations have been issued to him.
