PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: 68-year-old Man Fatally Hit by an Elderly Driver
October 17, 2011
Los Angeles- A 68-year-old pedestrian died after an elderly driver struck him in Pacific Coast Highway in Harbor City on Sunday at 9:30 p.m.
According to reports, the pedestrian crossed the Western and President avenues illegally and was hit by a westbound Toyota Prius car. The driver, an 83-year-old woman, stopped at the scene and called emergency personnel.
Reports said the long intersection has its crosswalk 80 to 90 feet away from the pedestrian's location. Police officers commented that the pedestrian should still have not taken the risk of jaywalking.
Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
