VEHICLE COLLISION: 65-Year-Old Pickup Truck Driver Dies after Rear-Ending Big Rig in Beaumont
August 18, 2011
Beaumont- A 65-year-old male pickup truck driver has died after his vehicle rear-ended a big rig along Interstate 10, said reports.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, the elderly driver identified as Edward Dodson III, from Yucaipa, was moving east near Beaumont Avenue when he likely failed to notice that the semi-tractor trailer in front of him has started to reduce speed.
The elderly driver’s 1992 Toyota pickup then hit the big rig’s rear. The pickup sustained serious damage due to the accident.
Reports said the elderly driver died at the accident scene. Meanwhile, the other driver was spared from injuries.
