PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: 64-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition after Being Hit in Irvine

Irvine - A 64-year-old man is currently in critical condition after being hit by a suspected drunken driver in Irvine last night.
The pedestrian accident occurred at about 8:30pm near the intersection of East Yale Loop and Briarwood.
Irvine police said the unidentified victim sustained bone fractures and head trauma.
The Major Accident Investigation Team has detained the suspected drunk driver to find out if he was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
The findings have been sent to the Orange County District Attorney’s office.
It is not clear yet if any charges will be filed against the driver.
