60-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Collision
September 22, 2009
El Monte – A 60-year-old bicyclist died last Sunday when he collided with a car coming out of a parking lot, police said Tuesday.
The fatal accident occurred at Peck Road near Woodville Drive at about 3:45 p.m.
According to Lt. Ken Alva, the bicyclist was heading south and was riding against traffic when he was hit by a driver leaving a supermarket parking.
The driver told police that he did not see the bicyclist, Alva added.
The bicyclist, who was identified as Aubrey Head from El Monte, later died during surgery at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.
No one has been cited for the incident and the police said that the investigation is still ongoing.
