BICYCLE ACCIDENT: 47-year old Man Killed in Newport Bicycle Accident

Newport – Local police are investigating a collision between a bicycle and a stake bed truck that killed one person this morning on Spyglass Hill Road near Harbor Ridge Drive.
Police identified the victim as 47-year-old Michael William Nine of Santa Ana.
The bicycle accident occurred at about 7:47 am when Nine went down on his bike and crashed into a Chevy truck while traveling at the northbound lane of Spyglass Hill.
Nine was brought to Hoag Hospital where he was pronounced dead later.
According to police, Nine may have been moving at 40 mph before crashing his bicycle.
Police have asked anyone with information about the bicycle accident to call investigator Todd Bush at 949-644-3746.
