PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: 3-year-old Boy Killed in Madera Hit-and-Run

Madera – A 3-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Madera last night.

The car accident occurred at about 6:45 pm near the intersection of Olive Avenue and Martin Street.

According to Madera Police, the boy, who was identified as Efrain Enrique Hernandez, was crossing the intersection with a relative and three other children when he was struck by a Silver Saturn SUV.

Hernandez was taken to Madera Community Hospital where he died due to his injuries.

The 33-year-old woman who was driving the SUV fled the car accident scene but was apprehended by authorities this afternoon.

The woman was charged with felony hit-and-run.
