VEHICLE COLLISION: 3 killed, 3 hurt in vehicle collision near Easton
August 5, 2010
Easton – At least three people were found dead while three others were severely injured Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle crash near Easton, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to reports, a Pontiac was heading north on Fig Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. when it ran a red light in an intersection and crashed into a Honda travelling on American Avenue.
The Pontiac’s driver suffered serious injuries while his three passengers were all ejected from the vehicle and died instantly. The two occupants of the Honda also sustained injuries. The three injured were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators said the driver of the Pontiac may not have been aware of the traffic signal, or may have totally ignored it.
