March 4, 2010
Cerritos – At least two people were killed, and five more were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on San Gabriel (605) River Freeway at the Artesia (91) Freeway in Cerritos, Wednesday evening.
Michael Harris, 67, of San Carlos was found dead on the spot after the accident, which took place minutes before 7 p.m., said coroner’s office Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
Meanwhile, the authorities have not yet identified the other man who was fatally injured, waiting for confirmation from his relatives.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jose Nunez, five other people were injured, of which four are severe cases. Due to the damages of the chain collision, northbound 605 was closed for more than four hours.
Investigation of the details and circumstances that led to the accident is ongoing.
