PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: 2 Teens in Critical Condition after Pedestrian Accident in Sacramento
October 20, 2010
Sacramento – A pedestrian accident in Sacramento has critically injured two teenagers, who were on their way to school this morning.
According to Sacramento Police, the two teens were crossing the busy Broadway Street on their way to American Legion High School when they were struck by a passing vehicle on the eastbound lane.
The teens were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance where one was determined to be in critical condition while the other was determined to be in severe critical condition.
The driver stayed at the accident scene and told responding officers that he did not see the two teens crossing.
The police are still trying to determine if the two were on a crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Witnesses’ accounts told the police that the two were on the crosswalk but the two teens were found about 40 feet from the nearest one.
The driver does not seem to be on the phone while driving and alcohol is not likely a factor in the accident.
It is still unclear if any charges will be filed.
