Bicycle Accident: 2 Minors Hurt in Bike Crash

Desert Hot Springs – A bicycle accident on Ocotillo Road Tuesday morning sent two minors to Desert Regional Medical Center, the Desert Hot Springs Police Department reports.
According to officers, a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old were riding a bicycle on the southbound lane of Ocotillo Rd. when it ran a stop sign towards Desert View Avenue, which caused it to crash into a crossing car.
Reports say that neither of the victims, whose names were not released, was wearing the required bicycle helmets when the accident happened.
In relation to the incident, authorities are encouraging cyclists and motorcyclists to wear the proper safety gear and protection to avoid suffering from serious injuries.
