19-year-old man dies in 3-vehicle collision

Madera, CA – A 19-year-old man was killed after being involved in a 3-vehicle collision on Avenue 7 Tuesday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Fernando Magana Gonzalez, was driving westbound on Avenue 7 in a Nissan pickup at around 5 p.m. when his vehicle drifted into eastbound lanes near Road 13, colliding with a Mercedes driven by Sherry Jones, 61, and then crashing into a Ford Explorer driven by Shimon Horovitz, 54.

Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Horovitz, Jones, and a passenger, Susan August, 62, all sustained minor injuries.
