ROAD ACCIDENTS: 14 killed, 274 DUI arrests in Los Angeles County on New Year’s holiday
January 4, 2012SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA -- The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has released figures as regards killing and road accidents in Los Angeles and throughout California.
In Los Angeles, four people died and 274 suspected drunken drivers were detained, while in the entire California, 25 people died due to traffic collisions and 1,270 people were arrested on thought of drunken driving.
There was an apparent increase in the figures as compared with last year’s data, reports said.
In 2011, four people were killed in Los Angeles while 24 people died in crashes statewide.
The data were gathered from a 78-hour period from Friday to Monday.
