PRODUCT RECALL: 11, 000 Chrysler Vehicles Recalled for Steering Problems

Detroit, Michigan – Giant automaker Chrysler Group LLC has announced the recall of 11, 351 vehicles for possible missing or incorrectly installed steering column part which could result in loss of steering control, reports said.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the affected vehicles, which belong to some of the 2011 model-year vehicles, could increase potential risks of vehicle crash. These include Chrysler 200 and 200 convertible cars, Town and Country minivan, Dodge Avenger, Caliber, Caravan, Journey, Nitro vehicles, Jeep Compass, Liberty, Patriot and Wrangler SUVs.
Although no reports of accidents or injuries were record, the company said they will cooperate with the federal agency to have the defective vehicles recalled from the market. Dealers were asked to inspect and repair the missing part.
The recall is expected to begin this month.
