Product Recall: 1.2 Million High Chairs Recalled Over Fall Hazard
March 18, 2010
Washington - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced on Thursday a voluntary recall that covers about 1.2 million high chairs which pose a fall hazard to young children.
In a press statement, the CPSC said the “screws in the front legs of the chairs manufactured by Graco Children’s Products can loosen and tip over.” CPSC officials said they received 24 incidents of injuries including bruises and bumps in the head, cuts and scratches to the body, and fracture to the arm.
In response to the issue, the Atlanta-based company said it is “working with the CPCS to provide a solution and fix the defective chairs.”
The recalled products involve “Harmony-TM high chairs” which is no longer in production.
Meanwhile, safety regulators warned parents to immediately stop using the recalled high chairs which can be returned to the retailers where they have purchased the said products.
